How to Become a Mermaid

To become a mermaid inCoral Island, you mustcomplete the Deep Sea healing mission in the Merfolk Kingdom. After talking to Krakatoa and Nanda Devi, you receive a quest to clean up the sea and heal the Coral Tree. Once youcomplete this mission, you may get your mermaid tail.

Step #1: Access the Merfolk Kingdom

Talk to Ling, the scientist, totrigger the diving mission. He will ask you to clean up polluted areas, which will eventually lead to discovering the Merfolk Kingdom gate. The gate requires you to activate all the Solar Orbs shown on the map and solve a puzzle. (The puzzle’s code is right, left, down, up.)

Step #2: Heal the Coral Tree in the Deep Sea

After accessing Merfolk,talk to the King and Queen. They will ask you to clean up the Deep Sea and heal the Coral Tree. Once you’ve accomplished this mission, they reward you with a Seal of Naga, which is like an honorary citizenship credential.

If you didn’t receive the letter after two in-game days, head to the beach and watch the cutscene.

Step #3: Talk to Cho Oyu

Finally, head back to the Kingdom and talk to Cho Oyu. She will start the One Of Us mission, which will turn you into a mermaid. All you need to do isbring her Osmium Kelpand Osmium Crops—five of each. She will then give you a potion that transforms humans into mermaids.

You will have the option to customize or change your tail.

What Happens When You Become a Mermaid

Yourdiving gearis replaced with your mermaid tail. You will not lose your human form and will become a hybrid being who lives both on land and at sea. But the good thing about getting your mermaid tail is that it makes you faster underwater and allows for dashing in the ocean.
