Colossusjust gave Sabretooth the satisfying payback the villain deserves as theX-Mencome to Wolverine’s aid and take the infamous Victor Creed down. The X-Men have incredibly strong heroes, but Colossus does not nearly get the hype he deserves as one of the team’s strongest, and now the mutant tank is finally getting some time to shine.
InWolverine by Chris Claremont#1, by Chris Claremont and Tom Reilly, Sabretooth attacks Wolverine in Japan, and just as Sabretooth is about to hurt Wolverine’s ex-fiancee, Mariko,Colossus appears and deals a devastating punch that quite literally folds Sabretooth in half.
Not only does this give Colossus some much-deserved merit, but seeing Sabretooth get his retribution is incredibly satisfying.

Sabretooth is the worst of the worst, as he constantly harasses Wolverine and consistently exhibits downright deplorable behavior, even for a villain, butSabretooth’s despicable historyonly makes Colossus' pummeling of Creed all the better. Though the moment is brief, Colossus gives Victor Creed a taste of the payback he deserves, especially considering Colossus’ identity as the X-Men’s gentle giant.
Like all the X-Men post-Krakoa, Colossus has had a difficult few years. However, Piotr specifically has been through the ringer, from Kitty Pryde ditching him at their wedding to his brother mind-controlling him and forcing him to murder his girlfriend. After all Colossus has been through as an X-Man and a character, he deserves a win, even if it is sadly only momentarily.
It is exhilarating to see someone as terrible as Sabretooth get trounced by an X-Men like Colossus, who is incredibly kind-natured in spite of all of Colossus’s hardships. As one ofthe X-Men’s strongest heavy hitterswith a near-indestructible mutation, it’s not hard to see how Colossus would destroy Sabretooth should the two men ever go toe to toe.

DuringWolverine#42 by Victor LaValle and Benjamin Percy,Colossus takes on an army of Sabretooth variantson top of a Sabretooth variant with the abilities of Captain America and still comes out victorious. Colossus’s ability to take on Sabretooth alone, an enemy whom several X-Men have struggled to defeat, shows how priceless Colossus is to the team.
Though Rogue accidentally takes down Colossus after she touches him during the battle against Sabretooth, Piotr’s attack is the catalyst that turns the fight in the X-Men’s favor as they give Sabretooth a deeply deserved beat down.Colossusis the X-Men’s go-to powerhouse, and his punch against theX-Men’s most heinous adversary is one of his finest moments and incredibly satisfying.
