TheCall of DutyLeagueis seeing more changes to its scene than it has in the past month. Ben “Benson” Bowe is the second CDL caster in two weeks to leaving the League as the esport is getting closer and closer to theCDL season’s playoffsand championship weekend.
Since theCall of DutyLeague moved online due to coronavirus, many changes have been made to the format to ensure theprofessionalCall of Dutyplayersdon’t cheat and that the matches go smoothly. However, this time has also seen the dismissal of two of the game’s casters.

Benson took to Twitter to announce that he is no longer employed byActivisionand theCall of DutyLeague. However, he was very vague about the reasons for his departure from his casting position. In his tweet, Benson mentioned that he couldn’t say any details about his stepping down due to advice from legal council, and though he says that this should tell fans “everything,” it raises more questions than it answers. Benson also said that the past week has been the best of his life and that he will provide fans more information around the situation as soon as he can.
This tweet has started a lot of discussion in theCall of DutyLeague community as fans attempt to figure out what may have happened to cause Benson to leave the organization. Some fans have theorized that he andMomomay have been fired for similar reasons. Momo was the first caster to be fired in the past two weeks, and he was let go due to sexual assault allegations that have been made against him. However, this reason doesn’t make sense alongside Benson’s Tweet.Call of DutyLeague PR has not made a statement about the firings of the two casters.
Fans of theCall of DutyLeague will have to wait for more information to come out before they can truly understand what’s currently going on. Until then, they can look forward to theCall of DutyLeague Championshipswhich have been leaked to be happening on the last weekend in August.
