A patch toDestiny 2is coming in hot on Thursday, September 13 that will fix an issue caused by an erroneous weekly reset that occurred in the game this past Saturday. Developer Bungie says that once Hotfix 2.0.2.1 is deployed, proper Weekly Challenges and Powerful Rewards forthis week’s resetwill be given to those players affected by the issue.

So, those who signed intoDestiny 2after the weekly reset this Tuesday and were without Weekly Challenges are in luck. Players will get Weekly Challenges and a chance at Powerful Rewards from the Gambit, Crucible, and Heroic Story Mission playlists back after the patch is downloaded and installed.

This issue impacted nearly every player, but had different results depending on how much progress one had made when the accidental weekly reset occurred on Saturday. Bungie did not tell players what exactly caused the issue, but on Saturday, September 8, a number of playlists and Challenges unintentionally reset in the game.

After an initial investigation, Bungie said over the weekend that it was a UI issue and that it was not affecting the Challenges and Powerful Rewards system itself. But then after looking into it further, Bungie told players that the problem was in fact with the system, which resulted in players losing progress on their Challenges and, in many cases, not getting Powerful Rewards, but instead lower-leveled, capped Legendary rewards.

Those who completed those Challenges between the accidental Saturday reset and the true weekly reset on Tuesday lost out on those Challenges for this week. While the issue has unfortunately slowed down the progress of players grinding to get ready forthe Last Wish raidon Friday, this Hotfix will give players a bit of a window of time to catch up and get these Powerful Rewards that allow bigger jumps in level.

Bungie did not announce what time exactly the Hotfix will go live, but updates usually occur in the morning, Pacific time.
