Popular indie adventure titleBugsnaxlaunched update 1.06, patching a variety of minor issues that improve the overall gameplay for the offbeat creature capture simulator. Chief among the new features is the ability for players to transfer theirBugsnaxsave files from a PS4 to the PS5, allowing fans to upgrade to next-gen without losing all of their hours spent ensnaring sentient strawberries and donuts.
Bugsnaxoriginally released as thefirst free PlayStation Plus game for the PS5at launch in November 2020. PS Plus members were given the option to reserve a PS5 copy of the game by adding it to their library. Members who reserved their PS5 copy of the game and still bought the PS4 version now have the option to seamlessly transfer their save data between consoles.

Despite launching as a free PS Plus game, developer Young Horses revealed thatBugsnaxwas stilla big sales successfor the indie studio. Thanks to its delightfully bizarre gameplay,Bugsnaxoutsold the studio’s well-known titleOctodad: Dadliest Catch. With yet another indie hit on their hands, Young Horses’ blend of unique concepts and charming characters has clearly found an audience.
Due to the successful launch ofBugsnax, players hoping to experience one of 2020’s weirdest games for themselves on other platforms may get the opportunity. Young Horses participated in a Reddit AMA last month where the developer stated they were“hoping” to bringBugsnaxto other platforms. While making no promises, there is still hope yet for players to explore Snaktooth Island on the Nintendo Switch. Young Horses and Nintendo just seem like a match made in heaven.
