During Xbox’s E3 press conference, a newBorderlands 3trailer was shown that highlighted thenew Vault Hunters' abilities, but the developer also gave attendees a look at the skill trees for Moze the Gunner (formerly known as the Bot Jock) afterward. Each skill tree is designed to bump the abilities of her and her mech, Iron Bear, and the three skill trees are named Demolition Woman, Bottomless Mags, and Shield of Retribution.
A unique aspect of Moze the Gunner’s skill trees are that each associated action skill is a weapon on her mech, Iron Bear. For example, the Demolition Woman’s action skill is a V-35 grenade launcher for Iron Bear, the Bottomless Mags action skill is a minigun, and Shield of Retribution’s action skill is a railgun capable of high-velocity shock damage. Each skill can be equipped to one of Iron Bear’s arms inBorderlands 3.
As far as herBorderlands 3capstone abilities are concerned, the Demolition Woman’s final skill is Short Fuse that gives Moze a chance of setting off an explosion every time she deals gun damage. The final ability for the Bottomless Mags tree is called Forge and sees that Moze regenerates ammo for her currently equipped weapon, and Shield of Retribution’s is Tenacious Defense. Whenever her shield is depleted, this ability sees that she gets a certain percentage back and increased gun damage.
WhereasZane the Operative’s skill treesseem more aligned with technical abilities akin to Mordecai and Zer0, Moze’s skill trees align her closer to Salvador and the Mechromancer. It uncertain how well thisBorderlands 3character plays compared to past characters, but for those who prefer hard-hitting characters, it seems Moze may be the one for them.
Considering thatAmara the Siren’s skill treeshave also been revealed, that means that Fl4k the Beastmaster is the only character remaining to be revealed. We do know he uses mechanical animals, but how well they work in conjunction with Moze’s Iron Bear inBorderlands 3remains to be seen.
Borderlands 3is set to release on July 12, 2025, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
