Big Brother 27has been off to a wild start thanks to the old-school playing style of one of the houseguests.Big Brother 27began with 17 houseguests, including returningBig Brother 13winner Rachel Reillyand the Accomplice, Amy Bingham, who had to earn her spot as the 17th houseguest by competing tasks for the Mastermind, while also keeping her identity a secret.

Big Brother 27also features Adrian Rocha, Ashley Hollis, Ava Pearl, Jimmy Heagerty, Katharine Woodman, Keanu Soto, Kelley Jorgensen, Lauren Domingue, Mickey Lee, Morgan Pope, Rylie Jeffries, Vince Panaro, Will Williams, and Zach Cornell. So far, Amy and Zae Frederich have been evicted.

Big Brother 27 Houseguest Keanu Soto Smiling

As a returningBig Brotherhouseguest who first played the game during its heyday in seasons 12 and 13,Rachel has lamented about the modern way that contestants handle competing. They try to hide their alliances and vote with the house, rather than make big moves and shake things up. However, there’s one newBig Brother 27houseguestwho has an old-school style of play that’s been keeping things thrilling.

Big Brother 27 Houseguest Keanu Soto Has An In-Your-Face Playing Style

Keanu Isn’t Afraid To Make Enemies

While most of theBig Brother 27houseguests have been playing it safe and trying to stay under-the-radar, Keanu has been in the spotlight since day one. He’s reminiscent of old-school legends such as Rachel, Dr. Will Kirby, and Janelle Pierzinabecause he’s not afraid to make enemies with his in-your-face playing style.

Keanu has had a very public feudwith Jimmy ever since Keanu told Ava Pearl that Jimmy was a snake, and she informed Jimmy about it. During the week 2 Power of Veto competition, after Keanu saved himself, Jimmy told him to have his moment because he wasn’t going to have that many more.Keanu said,“My moment is winning from here on out and picking you off all one by one.”

Many of theBig Brother 27houseguests were very offended by Keanu’s comment, which was puzzling because that’s exactly the goal of the game. Everyone should be working as hard as they can to evict all of the houseguests until they make it to the Final 2 with whomever they feel that they can beat.

It was baffling when houseguests such asBig Brother 16’sCody CalafioreandBig Brother 26’sMakensy Manbeck took their Final 2 allies, and eventual winners, Derrick Levasseur and Chelsie Baham to the end, giving up their games when they could’ve easily beaten the third place finishers.

It might seem ruthless to play the game like Dr. Will Kirby, who boldly told his fellow houseguests during aBig Brother 7Power of Veto meeting that he hated them all. However, it’s been refreshing to see Keanu also playing his own game out in the open like Dr. Will. His old-school playing style is a throwback to the days ofBig Brotherwhen houseguests cared more about winning than making friends.

Keanu Can Take It Just As Well As He Can Dish It

Keanu Isn’t Afraid To Speak His Mind

One of Keanu’s best qualities is thathe doesn’t allow himself to get rattled by his fellow houseguests when they go after him. Jimmy called out Keanu at the end of the first Power of Veto meeting, exposing him in front of the entire house for advocating for him to be on the chopping block and calling him a snake.

Jimmy pointed at Keanu and declared that he was"gunning"for him. He warned him to"buckle up, buddy, because this snake has a bite."

Instead of blowing up at Jimmy in front of everyone,Keanu stayed calm, and quietly asked him in a bored manner,“How long did it take for you to come up with that?“In his confessional, Keanu simply stated that Jimmy’s plan didn’t work, he was still in the house, and now he had a clear target. Later, Keanu had an honest talk with Jimmy about why he called him a snake, which was also refreshing to see.

When HOHJimmy attacked Keanu againat the week 2 nomination ceremony after he put him up on the chopping block, Keanu wasn’t fazed. He simply put on his sunglasses and pretended to sleep and snore while Jimmy went on his tiradeabout how Keanu was lying and throwing other houseguests under the bus to save himself, once again indicating that he was bored by him.

Instead of becoming offended by Jimmy,Keanu understands thatBig Brotheris a game and smack talk is part of it. During week 2, Keanu was clearly bored by Jimmy’s bluster, especially because he knew that he would save himself with his secret Mystery Houseguest Veto power.

Keanu Backs Up His Big Talk With Wins

Keanu Has Saved Himself Twice Already

After Jimmy nominated Keanu duringBig Brother 27week 2,Keanu said in the Diary Room that Jimmy had"awakened this barbarian’s rage.“When he was nominated again by HOH Lauren Domingue in week 3, he warned in his confessional,“Another week. Another spot on the block. Put me up every time if you have to. You have no idea who you’re dealing with.”

Unlike other houseguests who take to the Diary Room to declare that they’ll take their revenge, but then can’t deliver on their promises,Keanu has removed himself from the chopping twice with the Power of Veto. Some might argue that he didn’t really win his first Veto because he used his Mystery Competitor Power andBig Brother 20champion Kaycee Clarkwon it for him.

However, people shouldn’t discount the fact that Keanu was able to unleash Kaycee because he found the power during the HOH competition in the first place. If he hadn’t won the power, he wouldn’t have been able to use it, so he’s definitely delivered on his big talk two weeks in a row.

Keanu’s gameplay has a very old-school feel becausehe’s not throwing competitions like so many of his fellow houseguests in order to play it safe and stay under-the-radar. He came to win, and he’ll do whatever it takes to take home the $750,000 grand prize.

Keanu Expects His Allies To Openly Support Him

Keanu Doesn’t Hide In The Shadows

DuringBig Brother 27week 3,Keanu asked his allies if they’d use the Power of Veto to save him if they won. Adrian told him that he was worried that people would get mad at him if he used it, but Keanu pointed out that both of them would be safe if Adrian won it and saved him. When he was alone,Keanu said to the cameras that there were a bunch of selfish players in the house.

When Keanu spoke to Vince about him using the Power of Veto to save him if he won it,Vince told him that he’d consider it, but he didn’t want things to be obvious that they were working together. Keanu responded by saying,“Yeah, but if you want to keep me in this game, it’s gonna have to be obvious, ‘cause I’m a number for you, specifically.”

Even thoughVince later revealed in his confessionalthat he had no intention of actually using the Power of Veto on Keanu,Keanu made a great point that alliances will have to be obvious if people want to save each other from eviction.

Some of the best alliances, including Dr. Will and Mike “Boogie” Malin’s Chilltown, andBig Brother 6’sSovereign Six and Friendship alliances, have been out in the open. They loudly cheered when their members won HOH competitions, and they made it clear where they stood. Although secret alliances such asBig Brother 23’sCookout have also been extremely successful, the overt ones make for some very exciting game moments.

Keanu Is Playing Strategically

Keanu Wants To Keep His Friends Close & His Enemies Closer

When Keanu won theBig Brother 27week 3 Power of Veto competition, he also earned the privilege of watching the new animated movie,The Bad Guys 2, with three of his fellow houseguests.Even though he’d clashed with Rachel and Jimmy in the past, Keanu chose them and Ava to watch the film with him.

Keanu had previously vowed to behead the snake, which he considered to be Jimmy, but he made a strategic move to try to smooth things over with him for the time being by giving him the gift of watching the movie with him.He admitted in his confessional that he wanted to restore his relationships with all three of the houseguests he chose.

Rachel even said in the Diary Roomthat this was exactly what Keanu needed to do in order to gain good graces with her, so his strategy worked. Jimmy said in his confessional that he was shocked that Keanu chose him, and he wondered if Keanu was trying to turn over a new leaf.Keanu kept his enemies closer with this move, and it might actually pay off next week if Jimmy or Rachel wins HOH.

It’s been thrilling and exciting to see Keanu playingBig Brother 27with an old-school style. Rather than play a timid game, Keanu has been in the spotlight since day one, and he backs up his bold declarations by winning competitions. If he continues on this path,Keanu has a great chance of winningBig Brother 27.
