After almost three years spent in early access,Baldur’s Gate 3is slated to be released soon. Based on the5th EditionDungeons and Dragonsruleset, Larian Studios’ game will arrive in three separate editions: the Base Game, the digital Deluxe Edition, and the physical Collector’s Edition.
Baldur’s Gate 3is a highly anticipated video game among fans of role-playing games. The turn-based RPG has sparked a lot of excitement and anticipation among fans of the series and the genre as a whole, thanks to its stunning graphics, compelling gameplay, and rich narrative. Players who purchase the Deluxe or Collector’s Editions ofBaldur’s Gate 3will have access to the game three days earlier, on August 28, rather than on the game’s scheduled global release date of August 31. Besides the main game, those who buy the Deluxe Edition will receive a Divinity Bard Song Pack, an exclusive in-game Dice theme, and the Adventurer’s Pouch which is full of helpful supplies and potions, as well as digital character sheets, a digital artbook, and the game’s soundtrack. The Deluxe version of the game will also include an item pack inspired by the famousDivinity: Original Sinuniverse, which contains the Cape of the Red Prince, the Lute of the Merryweather Bard, the Needle of the Outlaw Rogue, the Bicorne of the Sea Beast, and the Mask of the Shapeshifter, which allows the player to instantly alter their playable character’s race and appearance.
The Collector’s Edition of the game will feature all the items included in the Digital edition plus a custom sticker sheet, aMind Flayervs. Drow battle diorama measuring 25 cm, a hardcover art book with 160 pages, a cloth map of Faerun, a collection of character origin sheets, a tadpole keyring, a metal d20 die, aMagic: The Gatheringbooster pack, and a game certificate. All of these items will come packed in an eerie Collector’s Edition box. The Base edition ofBaldur’s Gate 3is priced at $69.99, while the Digital Deluxe edition costs $79.99, and the Collector’s Edition is priced at $269.99.
The first twoBaldur’s Gategamesare widely regarded as classics of the RPG genre, and Larian Studios has a long history of producing high-quality games, such as theDivinity: Original Sinseries. That being said, regardless of whichever edition players choose,Baldur’s Gate 3looks to be a worthy successor to its predecessors.
Baldur’s Gate 3will be released on August 31 on Mac, PC, and PlayStation 5.
