Larian heavily encourages the use of mods when it comes toBaldur’s Gate 3. It’s impossible to please every player, and allowing fans to customize their campaigns to their liking was definitely a fantastic choice that has kept people interested in the game. There are a few areas ofBG3that some may be unsatisfied with due to Larian cutting necessary corners, but with the mod manager, it’s easier than ever to pick up where they left off.

Baldur’s Gate 3has been released to the public for almost two years, so a large portion of the player base already knows the story inside out and where to find the best vanilla items. Lots of mods available in the manager are designed around a specific class, whether that be brand-new subclasses, cosmetic armor, or complete overhauls. Here are some of the best class-based equipment mods to make your next campaign feel fresh and exciting.

Barbarian

Ten Unique Items In Each Act

GraphicFade’s “Rage and Resilience” adds thirty new items designed for the barbarian class, with ten in each act. These items blend seamlessly into the gameand can be distributed randomly throughout your adventure with the help of another mod by the same creator called “Fade’s Equipment Distribution.” Most of these items add extra buffs and abilities to your Rage, but there are also a few general goodies that can work with almost any character.

This creator has many similarly immersive mods for each class, though the rest of them won’t be covered here as they follow the same general format, each having 30 items to find throughout the game. If the mods chosen here for another class don’t take your fancy, then I’d recommend checking out their creations. They have a mod that combines all their equipment packs at the top of their page called “Fade’s Equipment Distribution All In One” that has recently become available for console players.

Bard

Defeat Your Enemies With A Siren-Like Song

Usercopperleavescreated an incredibly stylish pirate-themed armor set designed for a rogue/bard multiclass called “CL_Pirate Queen Gear.” This has various armor pieces to choose from, and two options for gloves and boots. Though this isthematically perfect for the Swashbuckler Rogue, I’m a big fan of the buffs it gives to the bard class. You can equip the armor as soon as you reach the tutorial chest, but most of the abilities are locked behind certain levels.

For example, a level six bard wearing the “Pirate Queen Fingerless Gloves” will gain the ability to cast an illusion or enchantment spell as a bonus action after making a weapon attack. This works particularly well with a College of Swords bard, and the roguish elements also have great synergy with the subclass. The set can get very powerful in the later game, though this shouldn’t be much of a problem on higher difficulties.

Cleric

Have Matching Shiny New Outfits With Shadowheart

Another mod created bycopperleavescalled “CL_Inconstant Moon - Cleric Gear” has the perfect equipment for Shadowheart or your own Sharran/Selünite cleric. Most of the piecesfit all body types, and the death, life, light, tempest, and war domains each have unique armors to suit their abilities, with nine for Shar and Selüne respectively. You’ll certainly be spoiled for choice, asthe mod also includes an array of boots, hats, and gloves.

Druid

Feel More Powerful In The First Act

MW_Ridire’s “Omni Druid staff” combines all the Act One druid staffs into one. Since this only draws from early-game material, this weapon isn’t completely overpowered, but will prevent you from feeling too weakoutside wildshape. You’ll probably still want to get your hands on thelegendary Markoheshkir staff in Act Three, but the modded staff is a fun and surprisingly balanced piece of equipment that can carry you up to that point.

Staffs Included:

Since the weapon has so many abilities, the author didn’t add any enchantment bonuses. However, you’ll still get the +1 bonus to spell save DCs granted from Melf’s first staff.A lot of the early weapons for druids are pretty underwhelming, so this is an easy way to make Act One more enjoyable.

Fighter

Fifty New Items To Mix And Match

“CL_Grim Visag’d War - Fighter Gear” is yet another creation bycopperleaves. This mod adds fifty pieces of equipment designed for fighters and martial melee characters, which are available from vendors and the tutorial chest. Some of these items are specifically made for githyanki, sothis is a perfect add-on if you usually have Lae’zel in your party or are playing as a gith. The mod includes camp clothes as well as armor, so you can mix and match your outfit if you like the appearance of one item but prefer the bonuses of another.

Monk

Give Some Much-Needed Love To A Less Powerful Subclass

The way of the four elements is generally considered one of theweakest monk subclasses inBG3andDnD.Thankfully, userGammawztook it upon themselves to add some items based around it to make the subclass worth playing without a total overhaul with the “Monk Way of the 4 Elements - Equipment Set” mod.Equipping these items will allow you to deal larger amounts of elemental damageand buff yourself more often.

Paladin

One Weapon You Can Use Through All Three Acts

The “Paladin Greatsword mod” bySwiftManslayeradds a strong yet not ridiculously overpowered weapon that players can acquire early on and upgrade as they progress. If you like the idea of having a signature weapon that you never have to change,it’s a solid sword to carry you throughout the game.It can initially be obtained bykilling the Spider Matriarch, but you’ll need to get a couple of special diamonds to fully upgrade it.

Diamond of the Oathless (First Upgrade)

Looted from Grym

Diamond of the Limitless Expanse (Second Upgrade)

Found in the chest by the portal in the Jungle of Chult

The radiant damage from Sunfall is deadly when combined with a divine smite, but it’s a solid weapon even when not in the hands of a paladin. If you want something more paladin-specific, the Paladin_Ring mod byStoneofSauronplaces a new ring into the chest in the Owlbear cave. This will grant you an extra spell slot and oath charge when worn.

Ranger

Options For All Types Of Players

Eclipse_5and Ghouls0Rule’s “Ranger’s Leather Armor” mod adds a few more options for ranger equipment throughout the game. These all add simple bonusesand don’t stray far from items you would expect to find in a vanilla playthrough.Skirbie’s Death Archer set is also great for adding some much-needed flair to the ranger subclass, though unlike the leather armor, it comes with several unique abilities. Not only are the armor and weapon set gorgeous, but their power will scale with you throughout the game, meaning you can keep the iconic look for your whole campaign.

Rogue

Unique Weapons And Practical Armor

Similarly to the Ranger’s Leather Armor Mod,Poesielibre’s Rogue Armor includes a handful of simple outfit options that grant the player small bonuses to dexterity and stats. Note that these only work for body type one, so you can’t properly equip Astarion with any of them. If you happen to be playing a rogue who fits this requirement, thenthese are some fantastic pieces of balanced early-game clothing.

Unlike a lot of armor mods, Poesielibre’s Rogue Armor cannot be obtained from Vendors, and you’ll only have the versions in the tutorial/camp chest.

The_real_Leon’s “More Rogue Gear” mod also adds a few pieces of unique weapons and armor. My favorite item out of these has to be the Time Stealer, which slows enemieswhile granting you the effects ofHaste. If you want something more overpowered, reflamedrake’s Sun King set is very fun to play around with.

Sorcerer

Weapons For Any Evil Spellcaster Or Dark Urge

RevolutionScribe’s Bhaalist Daggers are perfect for anyDark Urge sorcerer. Considering how Durge’s default class is a sorcerer,it’s slightly surprising that something like this isn’t already in the game. The mod adds two daggers that are similar in power toBloodthirstandCrimson Mischief, but are designed to be wielded by spellcasters instead of rogues.
