Set in Ancient Greece, gamers will be able to play as either the male Alexios or female Kassandra.

Both characters end up as mercenaries, allowing players to pick sides in the conflict between the forces of Athens or Sparta. For those who can’t tell,Odysseyis all about choice–a series first. The officialAssassin’s Creed Odysseylaunch trailer may not have different versions for bothAlexios and Kassandra, but it still does a phenomenal job showcasing the world ofOdyssey:

The latestAssassin’s Creedwill pit gamers against many creatures from Greek mythology. As it so happens, Game Rant’s hands-on time withthe Medusa fighthas proven that the experience will be chock-full of difficult boss battles that will challenge gamers even during the title’s end-game content.

Ubisoft promises that theOdysseyexperience will take gamers longer to complete than any previousAssassin’s Creedtitle, and that’s before including theNew Game Plus contentthat the studio has prepared. According to creative director Jonathan Dumont, gamers should expect more news about the post-launch content shortly after the title reaches store shelves on October 5. Until then, the launch trailer itself does a pretty good job showcasing what players should be able to do in the meantime.
