Although last night’sNintendo Direct presentationoffered up plenty of forthright information about the impending availability of the Switch’s forthcoming shooterSplatoon 2and its fighting gameARMS, there were some details about the latter title that were hidden in plain sight. To be specific, it appears as if four brand new, never-before-seen characters for the colorful boxing release were “leaked” during the presentation, as they were unofficially–or perhaps intentionally–debuted with glimpses of their faces.
As seen in the image below, the fourARMScharacters seem to be quite diverse and versatile in terms of their appearance, as the two in the left column appear to be human characters, while the couple in the right one look to be robots or androids of some kind. Unfortunately, though, with the screenshot only offering an all-too-brief view of their visages, it’s nearly impossible to discern any other traits.
Although there’s no telling who these four fighters inARMSare, yesterday’s Nintendo Direct did confirm the addition of a new character called Min Min, and gave Switch fans something to look forward to by unveiling the game’s release date. Fans will be able to take control of the ramen noodle-armed fighter and its other characters on August 11, 2025.
Those who wish to get a good feel for whatARMSwill have to offer once it comes out later this summer, Nintendo has previously provided several different pieces of footage to show off what the game’s all about. As a matter of fact, fans can check out the abilities of the titles characters including Mechinara, Ribbon Girl, and Spring Man intwo separate trailersfor the game.
With the release date forARMSnot too far away from now, fans should expect Nintendo to eke out the identities of the four unknown fighters as the days and weeks lead up to the title’s availability. And with any luck, we will be privy to some fresh gameplay footage to help show off howARMSwill stack up against other more conventional fighting games.
ARMSis set to launch on Jun 20, 2025 for Nintendo Switch.
