Ahsokaseason 2 is in the works, but after that season is released, I think these 3Star Warsshows each deserve their own season 2.Ahsokaseason 2is currently the only confirmed live-action project ofStar Wars’upcoming TV shows, which is jarring given how many live-actionStar Warsshows have been released over the last few years.
In some cases, such as withThe MandalorianandAndor, the fact that new seasons aren’t coming makes sense (and is good news). In the case ofAndor, which turned out to be one ofStar Wars’best TV shows, if not the single best, the plan was for the show to conclude after season 2.
The Mandalorianin turn proved so popular that it’s moving to the big screen withThe Mandalorian and Grogu. Yet, three ofStar Wars’recent live-action projects haven’t had such positive outcomes, and, afterAhsokaseason 2 is released, I’d really like to see these 3Star Warsshows get another chance with their own second seasons.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2
There Are Plenty Of Rumors About This Possibility
I’ll readily admit that I do not understand the hateObi-Wan Kenobireceived. As a massive fan of theStar Warsprequel trilogy, it was a dream come true to see Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader together again on screen, and seeing young Luke and Leia made it even better.
I acknowledge that there were some issues with the show, such as the fact that many shots were so dark it was impossible to see what was going on, but in terms of the story, I thought it was excellent. Evidently, many people disagree, but that only has me more convinced thatwe should getObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2.
Already, rumors are rampant thatObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 is indeed coming (although, it’s important to note, Lucasfilm has not confirmed anything). Whether it is or not, though, I thinkthere’s plenty left on the table forObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 to explore, and McGregor himself has voiced similar opinions.
Rumors are rampant thatObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 is indeed coming.
While I don’t think we should see another Vader and Obi-Wan face-off again, nor do I really think the attention should be on Luke and/or Leia, there are absolutely stories left to explore for this show, and I think it more than deserves a second chance.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 2
This Unconventional Star Wars Show Worked Brilliantly
AlthoughStar Wars: Skeleton Crewmay not have made quite the splash that shows likeThe MandalorianandAndordid, this show proved to be a genuinely enjoyable watch and something new forStar Warsmovies and TV shows. In addition to the fun 80s-style aesthetic of the show, the actors, particularly the kids, were brilliant.
TheSkeleton Crewendingalso left the door open for another season, as Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, remains at large and on the children’s planet, At Attin. At Attin has also now been exposed to the larger galaxy, which no doubt opens up a series of threats and therefore story possibilities.
WhileSkeleton Crewseason 2, likeObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2, has yet to be confirmed, there have been discussions about this possibility circulating since the show’s first season was released. Time is a bit more of a factor forSkeleton Crew, though, as those kids are growing up.
Recently,Skeleton Crewshowrunner Jon Watts even seemed to teasesomething being in the works, although he was guarded about what that might be (as is typical withStar Warsactors and creators). Speaking withCollider, Watts said:
“I love Star Wars, and I would love to make more Star Wars. I can’t say anything more. We always get in trouble when we do these interviews. I always say something, and I get in trouble. Like, I probably shouldn’t have said that. […] You’re going to get me in trouble.”
While that’s far from confirmation thatSkeleton Crewseason 2 is coming, let alone details about what the story could entail, it does make it clear that the showrunner would be interested in working on newStar Warsprojects (and suggests that we likely won’t know until it’s already underway).
The Book Of Boba Fett Season 2
Temuera Morrison Deserves So Much Better
While there will be those who bristle at this idea,I believeThe Book of Boba Fettdeserves a second chancewith another season. There’s little arguing thatThe Book of Boba Fettdid not perform well. Unfortunately, the show continues to be viewed as one ofStar Wars’worst shows.
What makes this particularly shocking and disappointing is the fact thatThe Book of Boba Fetthad all the right ingredients to succeed. Boba Fett is a massively popularStar Warscharacter, and he has been since the original trilogy, and Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison is incredibly talented.
The Book of Boba Fetthad all the right ingredients to succeed.
What’s more,The Book of Boba Fettmanaged to have connections toThe Mandalorianand brought Luke Skywalker himself back in an era we’d not yet gotten to see. Sadly, even these elements were not enough, as the show admittedly did drag a bit and failed to achieve the magic ofStar Wars’best shows.
Hopefully, wereThe Book of Boba Fettgiven another chance,Star Warscould learn from the brilliant shows that have come out since, such asAndorseason 2, to make improvements. While I remain very eager to seeAhsokaseason 2, I’m also curious about whatStar Warswill do next, and I hope these 3 shows are involved.
