If you’ve playedStardew Valley, you knowhow much time some of its achievements/trophies take, and howone tiny tip or trickcan change the entire game. Provided that you even care about those designer-imposed goals, many of them have specific challenges that force you to engage withnearly every facet of the game, even ones that you may not enjoy. Depending on your penchant for old school arcade games, that list may even include finishing Journey of the Prairie King.
For one player though, just a few achievements were not enough. It took them six years of playing to achieve it, but Reddit userJarlBallscruffconquered the platinum trophy, also known asthe"Iridium Seal.“For reference, I’ve been playingStardew Valleyfor roughly nine years now, and still don’t have it!
Stardew Valley Player Manages To Platinum The Game After 6 Years
The Iridium Seal Is The Platinum Trophy
After showcasing their first achievement (Greenhorn) in 2019, JarlBallScruff goes on to share their Iridium Seal trophy, which they obtained just shy of six years with the game. According to the champion, they “almost gave up” when it came to the Fector’s Challenge trophy, which requires you to beat Journey of the Prairie King arcade game without dying (itself one of the rarest trophies inStardew Valleyto date). To clear up any confusion, the “Iridium Seal” challenge (subtitled “This priceless treasure is the mark of a truly great farmer! Grandpa lives inside…") is actually the platinum trophy.
Stardew Valleyhas a few tough achievements, especially if you dip into the DLC segment (which is thankfully not required to obtain the platinum trophy). Only 8.31% of players completed the museum collection, a scant few 6.6% cooked every recipe, and only 5.76% of people crafted every item. That’s before even getting to the ultra-rare challenges, like catching every fish (3.5%) or beating Journey of the Prairie King without dying (4.25%). Other trophies are incredibly time-consuming and reward players who play one farm until they reach the tippy-top of the endgame.
I Keep Restarting Farms
Every time I think about clearing out the last few achievements/trophies for theStardew Valleyplatinum, some life-changing event hits, or I end up starting over on a brand-new farm with a friend or family member. Just this past year, I kicked off another run with my wife and daughter, so the coveted platinum will have to wait a while longer. There are just so many different ways to play, and I’m constantly losing track of these challenges when playing with loved ones.
For those who stick with it and earn the platinum trophy, kudos. FinishingStardew Valleyin its entirety is a massive accomplishment, and that’s before you even factor in the DLC trophy pack that came in the 1.6 update. Given that you need to reach “perfection” to clear out those fully, it’s yet another challenge to take on. It’s a good thingStardew Valleyis a timeless experience.
