Fortunately, Peter is saved by Wolverine, who takes down the beast. ButSpider-Man is incredibly mad at Wolverine, still under the impression that Logan is the person who killed Peter’s parents.
Wolverinegets honest with Spider-Man. He doesn’t deny that he’s done awful things, but he mentions that he was capable of good even back then. He says it was just as likely that he was protecting them. Peter doubts Logan, but Wolverine sticks to his story thatSpider-Man’s parents were Logan’s friendsand that it’s likely he didn’t kill them.

The schism between Spider-Man and Wolverine began when Logan consulted Peter to help him save the data from the Janus Directory, a database of spies. Peter cracked the system, but when looking up information about his parents, he discovered a video that made it look like Wolverine was actually guilty of killing Richard and Mary Parker, enraging Spider-Man.
It’s still up in the air whetherWolverine actually killed Spider-Man’s parentsor not. But either way, it’s still interesting that long before Logan knew Peter, Wolverine was close with Spider-Man’s mother and father.
