The official website for the upcomingA Couple of Cuckoosposted an English-subtitled video on Monday, revealing additional cast members, the opening song, and an April 2022 premiere.

The opening theme song, “Dekoboko” is sung by Ikimonogakari vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka and can beheard throughout the newly released video. The anime will premiere on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation programming block as well as on TV Asahi’s affiliate channels.

Kaito Ishikawa (Haikyuu!!’sTobio Kageyama,Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai’sSakuta Azusagawa)will star asNagi Umino, with Akari Kitō (Demon Slayer’sNezuko,Tonikaku Kawaii’sTsukasa Yuzaki) and Nao Tōyama (Nisekoi’sChitoge Kirisaki,My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’sYui Yuigahama voicing Erika Amano and Hiro Segawa, respectively. Ryohei Kimura, Yōko Hikasa, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Yukiko Aruga round out thenewly announced cast members.

Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySPwill animate the series, with Hiroaki Akagi (Teasing Master Takagi-san,Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) serving as chief director and Yoshiyuki Shirahata (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle,Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater) directing. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War,Digimon Adventure tri: Loss) will serve as scriptwriter, with character designs by Aya Takano (Himouto! Umaru-chan,Teasing Master Takagi-san).

Miki Yoshikawa’sA Couple of Cuckoosbegan serializationin Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2020. The series has amassed 10 volumes throughout its run so far. Yoshikawa is best known for herYamada-kun and the Seven Witchesmanga series,which ran in Weekly Shōnen Magazinefrom 2012-2017. The series inspired an 8-episode television drama in 2013, followed by a 12-episode anime adaptation animated by Liden Films in 2015.

Kodansha USA digitally publishes the manga series in English, having released the fifth volume in August 2021. Crunchyroll will stream the series outside of Japan as it airs.
