TheGreen Lanterns can use their ringsto do some truly impressive things. Whether it be making hyper-realistic constructs or recreating a person from memory, the variousmembers of the Green Lantern Corpshave done some wild things. Green Lantern Antelope Construct DC

8Hal Jordan’s More Realistic Constructs

As Seen In:Green Lantern #3

People may think that the constructs Green Lanterns create are all solid green, and for a large number of them, that is true. But Hal Jordan was able to switch that up. Thanks to a ring he manifested out of residual willpower from an old Manhunter, Hal was able to generate constructs realistic enough to confuse living things.

Granted, this power hasn’t been used as much as one might expect. But still, it’s incredibly cool to see that with enough willpower (which Hal has plenty of), a Green Lantern can make the illusions they generate lifelike enough to the point where they’re hard to discern from the genuine article.

Hal Jordan Fake Arms DC

7Hal Jordan’s Alien Disguise

As Seen In:The Green Lantern #4

The Green Lanterns are, more or less, peacekeepers, and sometimes they have to go undercover to get to the bottom of things. InThe Green Lantern #4, Hal is looking for the Blackstars and strikes up a conversation with Countess Belzebeth. To hide his identity, Hal generates a couple of additional arms to make him seem more ‘alien’.

One thinks that a Green Lantern is best when they create something wild and big. But it’s not always about the spectacle. Sometimes, a light approach is best and, in this case, using his powers to pass himself off as someone else is exactly what Green Lantern needed to do.

Green Lanterns Making Star DC

6The Corps’ Creation of a Star

When it comes to creative solutions, never let it be said that Hal can’t think his way out of anything. The Green Lantern Corps once faced the prospect of a pregnant Sun-Eater, endangering countless numbers of stars. To buy them time, Hal leads his team in creating a decoy star to satiate the newborn Sun-Eater.

The technicalities of how the Power Rings function has varied over the years, but even Hal’s partners at the time didn’t think they’d be able to mimic an actual son. But it worked and they saved the day from the newborn Sun-Eater. When it comes down to it, a Green Lantern can get anything done with enough determination.

Dawnbreaker Demon Constructs DC

5Dawnbreaker’s Demon Army

As Seen In:Batman: The Dawnbreaker #1

This is a particularly unusual entry as it’s actually something created by Hal (or rather, Batman’s) Dark Multiverse counterpart, Dawnbreaker. When this version of Bruce was selected to be his world’s Green Lantern, he let the rage and darkness he was feeling over his parents' deaths create twisted constructs that, unlike other constructs, were capable of murder.

While Green Lanterns have been granted the right to use lethal methods, Dawnbreaker’s version of the Corps didn’t. But with enough hate in his heart and determination, Dawnbreaker poisoned the entirety of the Green Light of Willpower, turning the emotional energy into a means of enacting his rage on the universe.

Hal Red Lantern Constructs DC

4Hal Jordan’s Red Lantern Constructs

As Seen In:Green Lantern #38

Hal may prefer green, but he’s such a great light-wielder, he was one of the first to master other shades of the Emotional Spectrum. When he and Sinestro were held captive by the Red Lanterns, Hal gave into rage and became a Red Lantern himself. But interestingly enough, he, unlike other Red Lanterns, could actually make solid constructs.

Most Red Lanterns are practically feral monsters, spewing acidic blood instead of making constructs. But thanks to Hal’s incredible experience, he was able to hold onto enough of himself to forge constructs, such as an electric chair, out of rage-powered energy. It was a brief, but an incredibly cool display of Hal’s power.

Green Lantern Speaking with Ellie

3John Stewart’s Sentient Construct

As Seen In:Green Lantern: War Journal #5

Hal gets a lot of credit, but the truth is John is arguably the DCU’s most powerful Green Lantern. After a serious upgrade, John’s powers were so great, he was actually able to make a construct modeled after his deceased little sister Ellie. But this wasn’t a mere puppet; Ellie had sentience and was considered to be her own person.

While John has been called out for creating such a construct, the idea that he was able to essentially create life is an incredible testament to his powers. Especially since Ellie has a limited degree of powers herself, such as minor construct generation and the ability to access pocket dimensions.

Hal Remakes Coast City DC 1

2Hal Jordan’s Replication of Coast City

As Seen In:Green Lantern #48

Sometimes loss can push creative souls to new heights. When Hal lost everything after the destruction of Coast City, he was grieving incredibly hard. While exploring the remains of his home, Hal pushed himself and recreated Coast City, making buildings, local sights, and even generating citizens to populate his artificially created city.

Despite the impressive show, Hal couldn’t keep it up forever. Not to mention, it was the wild idea that he could recreate Coast City on a permanent basis that inspired him to attack the Green Lantern corps during “Emerald Twilight”. But despite the harrowing nature of this construct, it’s a great display of what Green Lantern can do.

John Talking to Mother’s Spirit DC

1John Stewart’s Soul Transference

As Seen in:Green Lantern: War Journal #12

As impressive as it was for John to recreate his little sister, Ellie was just a memory. But when his mother was on death’s door, the Green Lantern did something no other Lantern has ever done. As his mother began to pass, John incorporated her essence into his Power Ring, allowing her to live on as a construct.

Again, there are some ethical concerns to consider. But it’s still an amazing show of what a Green Lantern that’s ascended to John’s level of power can do. With enough willpower there’s nothing that can stop these heroes from seeing their deepest wishes realized. Even death can’t stand in the way of aGreen Lantern.
