The nominations for the 2025Emmy Awardshave been announced. The 77th award ceremony will air on CBS and Paramount+ on September 14 and be hosted by stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze. The2025 Daytime Emmy nominationshave already been revealed. Additionally, the Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies will air on September 6-7.
The Emmy Awards will consist of 25 different categories that range from reality television, late-night talk shows, dramas, comedies, and variety specials. Looking back at the2024 Emmy Awards winners, last year’s big winner wasShōgun, which won a total of 18 different awards. The Nominees Have Some Strong Competition
The past year was outstanding for television, and that is reflected in the Emmy Awards nominations. Some of the notable inclusions areHarrison Ford getting his first Emmy nomination forShrinkingand Kathy Bates becoming the oldest actress ever to be nominated for Best Drama.
Other interesting categories include Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series, which isstacked in favor ofThe Studio, as the only nominee not from that series is Jon Bernthal inThe Bear.WhileThe Penguinseason 2is unlikely to happen, it is great to see the outstanding acting in that series be recognized with multiple performers.
WhileThe Last of Usseason 2was controversial for some viewers, its nominations celebrate the quality of the series. The series was nominated for Outstanding Drama series, along with Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal, Joe Pantoliano, Jeffrey Wright, Kaitlyn Dever, and Catherine O’Hara all receiving acting nominations.
