Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, there have been seemingly endless questions about when the nextNintendo Directwill take place. The console, although doing well, has been struggling due to the lack of many new titles that would prompt potential buyers to purchase the new system. Many have expected big announcements of new upcoming titles to solve this problem, but things may not change much even with the upcoming Nintendo Direct.

Finally, after weeks of rumors, aNintendo Direct Partner Showcase has been officially announcedforJuly 31 at 9 a.m. ET. As a Partner Showcase, the 25-minute-long presentation will not have any first-party Nintendo titles, which meansno newAnimal Crossingannouncements yet. Though there might be talk of the infamousHollow Knight: Silksong, it feels a little unlikely at this point, too. However, the showcase will still show off several exciting games, including possibly some of the following.

10Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Might Make The Leap To Nintendo

Rating System PEGI Suggested It Could Be Coming

While it’s true that recentAssassin’s Creedtitles have not come to Nintendo, this could have been more of a hardware issue than an objective choice, especially as past entries in the series have been available.Currently,Assassin’s Creed: Shadowsis only available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but a leak from PEGI, the European equivalent to the USA’s ESRB,earlier this year included the Nintendo Switch 2with mention ofAssassin’s Creed: Shadows.

Of course, that reported leak is not an official announcement, but in conjunction with other rumors swirling on the internet,it does feel as though there is a real possibility. Originally, there were many rumors and leaks that suggestedRed Dead Redemption 2would be a launch title for the Switch 2. Because of its popularity in general, there is high demand already in the community to seeRDR2arrive on Switch 2, and it could even serve as a marker of the console’s hardware capabilities. Also, the firstRed Dead Redemptionis already available on the Nintendo Switchand therefore could be played on Switch 2 with backwards compatibility, so bringing its sequel to the system would feel natural.

There is a large demand in the gaming community, currently, for games in theResident Evilfranchise to be brought to the Nintendo Switch 2. Specifically because of the idea of being able to play through several of the games on one system. Though nothing has been announced, it does seem likely that we can expect at least aResident Evil 4 Remakeportto the Nintendo Switch 2,especially given that the originalResident Evil 4started out as a Nintendo GameCube exclusive.
